The Artist
I established my ceramic studio in St-Gilbert, Portneuf County, Quebec, in a beautiful country house where life is simple and serene. The great outdoors are my inspiration.
My Artistic Journey
A need for creation has always been present in my life. I truly developed my taste for arts through pursuing my Diploma in Fine Arts in evening classes. I then turned to more specialized seminars and leisure courses during weekends, where I explored techniques in various art forms.
At the
Maison du potier de Québec, I learned the basics of working clay, as well as bronze casting. I then undertook a period of research on an innovative copper patina technique, which further opened my horizons. However, when I returned to clay in 1998 at the
Centre de céramique de Sainte-Foy, I knew I had found my medium of expression.
The creation process of ceramics truly fulfills my needs. Touching the clay and kneading it into its desired shape provide an invigorating feeling and great satisfaction. Then, living at the rhythm of the clay and letting it dry gently are comforting. The later stages of bisque firing and glazing are soothing and precursors of the great finale: the Raku firing.
Today, all of my pieces comprise patinated or natural copper, either incrusted or in the background, which harmonize with the glaze’s metallic shine. For the past year, I have also enriched my technique by embracing paper clay and its numerous possibilities.
The world of ceramics is so broad that my lifetime will not be sufficient to fully discover it. My passion that drives me put me on a quest for perfection and the pieces I offer you are infused with this passion. The greatest fulfilment for me is when someone desires to own one of my pieces.
